Publish seat availability to families

This is a beta feature part of Avela Labs.

You can now publish public seat availability to families! Configure a public page to give families a general sense of seat availability by school and grade, no account or application needed.

Set up the page

As an Avela Labs feature, this must first be added to your organization. Please reach out to your Avela success rep to enable it. 

Once enabled, follow these steps to configure the page:

1. Go to Organization, then Settings, then the Tools tab. Scroll down to Public seat availability.
2. Toggle on Publish seat availability publicly.
   1. This will create a public page link to share with families.
   2. You can toggle it off at any time to remove access to the link.
3. Configure your page settings.
   1. You control the labels families see and the thresholds behind each range.
   2. After updating your configuration, it can take 5-10 minutes for the changes to be reflected on the live page.

What families see

Families can see a breakdown of schools in your organization and get a general sense of how many seats are available in each grade. This helps provide transparency into the enrollment process and gives families better information on their chances of getting into a particular school.

Exact seat counts and waitlist lengths are never shown to families.

Do families need an account to view the page?

No. It's a public page, so anyone with the link can view it without logging in or starting an application.

How often does seat availability update?

Seat availability information refreshes every 5-10 minutes.

Where should I share the public link with families?

Wherever families already look for updates, such as your district website, enrollment portal, or newsletters.
