Each site in Explore can have a photo. It appears as a thumbnail in the list and as a banner at the top of the profile. Sites without a photo show a gray placeholder image.
Name and upload your photos
- Save one photo per site.
- Name each file with the site's ID from your data sheet, for example
1045.jpg. - Upload the photos to your shared Explore folder.
- Let your CS rep know when the upload is done.
If the file name doesn't match an ID exactly, the photo won't appear. Check for extra spaces or leftover names like
1045 (1).jpg.
Choose good photos
- Use a wide (landscape) photo. The profile banner crops the photo to a wide strip.
- Keep the main subject in the center. The site name appears at the bottom of the profile photo, so avoid important details there.
- Avoid photos with text in them. Signs and logos can get cropped or covered.
- Use photos you have permission to use. Don't use photos of students unless you have consent.
- Keep the style consistent. For example, use building exteriors for every site.
Add or replace a photo later
Upload the new photo to your shared folder with the same file name (the site ID), replacing the old one. Then let your Avela representative know. Updated image files should reflect in your Explore site automatically within 24 hours.
