Using Avela intelligence to help with verifications
File uploads can be combined with Avela intelligence to assist in the verifying process. There's two ways to use Avela intelligence, depending on the kind of verification:
Avela Intelligence Assistance
To turn on Verifications with Avela Intelligence, get in touch with your client services representative.
Once enabled, each verification associated with a file upload will have suggestions from AI. Information visible on the dialog may also contain suggestions, depending on the information available on the file upload.
Suggestions are divided as:
- AI found discrepancies and suggests adjustments
- AI found no discrepancies and confirms value
- AI couldn't find anything - the information was not extracted either because of file quality, picture focus, or similar issues with information legibility.
You can change the field directly based on the suggestions if it relates to the verification, and in cases where the suggestion relates to Relationships - siblings, guardians, student information - you can easily copy the suggestion to edit the information later:
ID Intelligence Assistance
ID Intelligence reads uploaded identity documents as soon as you open them in the verifications panel. It relies on Avela Intelligence to highlight the information it finds and show which fields match depending on the data the family entered on the form. Staff remain vital to confirm field verifications, as ID Intelligence is only there to make the read faster. To turn on Verifications with ID Intelligence, get in touch with your client services representative.
Reading matches
When Avela Intelligence runs to scan a document, a purple banner appears at the top of the verification panel, showing three potential results:
- Avela Intelligence found something -A value in the document matches at least one value on the form response, shown in purple with a checkmark.
- Nothing was found - Avela Intelligence scanned the document, but failed to match to any values.
- Document could not be scanned - Avela Intelligence couldn’t scan the document, typically because of the file being an unsupported type, like a .PDF.
Matches appear across the Verification fields as well as the Student, Parent, and Siblings tabs of the verification panel, depending on what Avela Intelligence pulls from the document.
Find a value in the document
Click Find in document next to any matched field to jump to the place in the uploaded document where Avela Intelligence found that value. The document viewer zooms in and highlights the area, with a label showing what was matched.
Supported ID documents
Avela Intelligence currently processes ID cards in the following formats: JPG, PNG, and HEIC. Passports and driver’s licenses are not supported.
What to know
- Staff still complete the verification. ID and Avela Intelligence surface what's in the document — staff is still responsible of confirming whether each field is verified.
- If a field you expected isn't highlighted, Avela Intelligence didn't find a clear match for it. Formatting differences — abbreviations, capitalization, hyphenation — can cause this, as well as blurryness or poor image resolution.
