You may have seen this error banner appear on a form response:
This article will walk you through how to resolve this error.
Why this error occurs
Avela's Auto waitlist rule adds students to the waitlist at a school once their form reaches a configured status.
This rule fails when the school and grade combination is invalid. Common causes include:
- The selected school does not offer the grade the applicant applied for
- The applicant's grade field was left blank or contains an unrecognized value
It is important to resolve this error so the applicant can be properly waitlisted.
How to fix this error
- Open the form response with the error.
- Review the applicant's school and grade selections and check for any issues (a missing grade, a grade the selected school does not offer, etc.).
- Update the school or grade selection to a valid combination and save the form response.
- Once corrected, Avela will automatically re-run the Auto waitlist rule. The error banner will disappear once the rule has run successfully.
Note: Some admin roles do not include form edit permissions. If you see this error but cannot update the address yourself, please contact your organization admin and share the applicant's name and the error details from the Alerts tab. Your org admin will be able to make the correction.
