On the final screen of a Custom Export, you can specify an additional means of delivery through sFTP.
To export through an sFTP, you have to know the details of the destination server first, and most importantly, how to authenticate with it. Simply toggle it on and add your server details in the following fields:
Server details:
Hostname:
This is usually the server domain, it can be both an IP or a URL
Port:
The port to connect through, is usually just a couple of digits long. The default is generally 22, but your server may have a dedicated port - consult with your organization first.
Directory:
The path you want to export to. You can create directories by specifying a specific path on this field, like
exports/july
Authentication:
This is how your organization’s server identifies you have permission to export into it, Avela supports 2 ways of authentication, and you can choose the one that fits best depending on your organization’s server settings.
Basic authentication:
Username and password
SSH:
Through the use of a private key. Note: Keys with passphrases are not supported.
| ⚠️ Note: If your server has a firewall that allows only specific IPs through, exporting via SFTP may not work. Avela does not have a single, dedicated IP to whitelist, it relies on AWS to dynamically source them from a secure pool of available IPs. |
