On the final screen of a Custom Export, you can specify an additional means of delivery, like exporting directly to a new Google Spreadsheet. This is useful if you'd like to directly pull data into a folder you've shared with others, without the hassle of exporting and importing a CSV.
Depending on the size of your export, not all of it may fit in a spreadsheet - Google Sheets has a limit of 10,000 rows. We recommend a different delivery system if you'd like to export more than 10,000 form responses.
| ⚠️ This feature is only available to Google Workspace users. |
- To export to Google drive as a new Google Spreadsheet, the destination needs to be within a Shared Drive of your Google Workspace, and you'll first need to share the drive with our service account exports@avela.org, as a Contributor.
2. In Avela, when customizing your export delivery, select "New Google Sheets spreadsheet".
3. Share the folder URL or ID. Easiest way to do this is to copy the URL from the browser and paste it directly under "Folder URL or ID" field.
If, for any given reason, you wanted to use the ID: The ID is a particular string containing letters, numbers, and some special characters that reference a spreadsheet and it can be found in the URL itself (directly after /folders/ ).
3. Combine the delivery method with any other customization in your export - and you'll find the file uploaded in the specified folder after it runs.
